Compania de plăți Klarna a lansat un stablecoin, devenind prima bancă digitală care emite un token pe Tempo, noul blockchain de tip layer-1 dezvoltat de Stripe și Paradigm.
Conform anunțului de marți, noul stablecoin este legat de dolarul american și este în prezent activ pe testnet-ul Tempo, cu un lansare principală planificată pentru 2026.
Numit KlarnaUSD, stablecoin-ul a fost construit de Bridge, un furnizor de infrastructură pentru stablecoin-uri, de asemenea deținut de Stripe. Această mișcare extinde parteneriatul de lungă durată al Klarna cu Stripe în cele 26 de piețe globale.
„Crypto este în sfârșit într-o etapă în care este rapid, cu costuri reduse, sigur și construit pentru scalare. Acesta este începutul Klarna în crypto,” a declarat CEO-ul companiei, Sebastian Siemiatkowski.
