Both Web2 and Web3 offer different paths to enhance consumer welfare. It is likely that both will continue, provided that neither one cancels out the other due to anti-competitive strategies. Since Web3 projects lack the ability to dominate and control, anti-competitive practices will come from Web2 companies against them, not the other way around. Antitrust authorities, regulators, and policymakers must ensure the protection of Web3 from giant Web2 companies.
