MY OPINION ON MIDNIGHT - VOL 4
Whenever I read more about Midnight, I consider it to be a challenge to security within blockchains. Rather than a single method of agreement, it employs Minotaur, a combination of Proof -of-Work and Proof -of-Stake to prevent attacks along a single direction. Using zero-knowledge proofs and the Kachina protocol, the network can still verify private calculations and still be fast and secure when used with real money and identity.
I believe that such design is significant as privacy blockchains frequently have to decide between privacy and safety. Midnight can verify personal transactions without displaying useful information with the help of Minotaur and zero-knowledge proofs.
