Safe exit strategy
Have you bought on spot at high prices? 📈
Do you still believe in that coin’s future? 🚀
Don’t like the idea of holding until it goes up again? 😬
If you answered yes to all three questions — I have a strategy for you that can help improve your entry price significantly.

Step #1
Sell 10–20% of the X coin you currently hold. Whether the price is good or bad doesn’t matter.
If we’re in a super-cycle or an alt-season is about to start and your X coin goes to the moon 🌕 — you still have 80–90% of your bag.

Step #2
If after your sell the price goes up and the market rallies again — sell another 10–20% at the moment when you feel something like:
“Wow, what a nice pump, I’ll be rich soon” 😄
Don’t try to catch the top or speculate using TA.

Step #3
Wait until the price goes down again and reliably falls below your average sell price.
At least one significant consolidation after an impulsive dump should be below your exit price.
At this point, set a stop-loss order — a STOP MARKET buy just below your average sell price.
Now, if a bull market starts, you’ll buy back all the coins you sold without realizing any losses ✅

If the price keeps going down — continue selling small portions (2–5%) of your spot bag and always recalculate your total average sell price to adjust the stop-loss order.

Even if you’ve sold everything or decided not to sell anymore — keep moving the stop-loss slightly lower after every new dump.
This is basically your profit taking mechanism 📉➡️📈

I use my own trading platform to execute this strategy, but it’s not required. You just need to keep track of your orders — an Excel spreadsheet, a text document, or even a piece of paper and a pen will be enough ✍️
Eventually, the stop-loss will be hit or you’ll buy everything back during one of the dips. But once a new bull market starts — your average entry price will be much lower than it was before.

What if $60K was the macro bottom and Bitcoin goes for another bull run from here?
Ok, I don’t think this will happen, but no one knows — we only play probabilities.
And still, many people are in fear and in greed at the same time:
“What if it drops more? What if it goes to zero? What if it goes to a new ATH already?” And so on…
If Bitcoin is about to make a new ATH, first it will show at least some signs of strength. For example, an impulsive move up from the current consolidation, reclaiming the Bull Market Support Band, reclaiming the 50-week MA. And many, many corrections on the way so you can enter again, even if there is some gap between your sell and buy price.
When Bitcoin is about to make a huge move up — it looks strong, but the price action we see now is not strong at all.
Don’t be afraid to sell in a bear market the same way as you aren’t afraid of buying in the bull market. Don’t stress — navigate the market.

While markets experience some relief I consider this as an opportunity to improve my $ETH short spot position's both size and average entry.
It's a little underwater at this point, I am aiming to add more to this position from $2150 up to $2450.

After Trump’s “verbal intervention,” markets experienced some relief.
Definitely, the S&P 500 being under its bull market support band is a scary sign, and he will say whatever is needed to prevent a major crash.
But we’ve got a weekly close below that level and haven’t reclaimed it yet. Looks quite weak.
Oil price indeed went down yesterday, but if we pay attention to the chart, the trend started not last week — the price has been growing since the beginning of January. Probably it will still continue to go up even if some kind of de-escalation is due to come in the following days/weeks.

This is very important.
If S&P breaks down from BMSM (bull market support band) - we may expect something similar to what happened almost a year ago in March-April 2025. $BTC will dump really hard in this case, probably even sub $50,000.

If it takes longer for the price to recover than it did to reach a peak, that’s a correction.
For example, during one 4H candle we had a pump that was retraced only half in the next four 4H candles.
That’s clearly a correction and we can reasonably expect the uptrend to continue.

Recently I shared my exit strategy and want to show an example of a coin that I sold this way.
$SOLV - my average selling price is $0.008542, while current price is ~$0.00388. The stop loss currently is at $0.006 — which I consider as a safe level during the bear market.
Let’s see how much it may dump, but once it’s back — I am in.
