TRUMP SAYS US WILL ESCORT TANKERS THROUGH STRAIT OF HORMUZ 'VERY SOON' AFTER IRAN STRIKE🚨🇺🇲🇮🇷

US President Donald Trump said the United States will begin escorting oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz “very soon”, warning Iran that any attempt to disrupt shipping in the critical waterway could trigger attacks on its oil infrastructure.

The warning came as Trump announced that US forces had carried out major strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island, destroying what he described as key military installations.

In a message posted on Truth Social on Friday, Trump emphasised the scale of the assault. "The United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran's crown jewel, Kharg Island."

Kharg Island is a crucial hub for Iran’s energy exports, handling most of the country’s crude shipments and located close to the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow maritime chokepoint through which a significant share of the world’s oil passes.

Trump said the United States had deliberately avoided striking the island’s oil facilities but made clear that restraint could quickly end if shipping in the strait was threatened

"I have chosen NOT to wipe out the Oil Infrastructure on the Island. However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider."

He added that Washington would move quickly to secure the vital shipping route, saying the US would begin escorting tankers through the Strait of Hormuz "very soon."

The announcement came amid intensifying military exchanges across the region. Iranian state media reported that Tehran launched a fresh round of missile strikes toward Israel shortly after midnight Saturday.
