🚨Breaking-Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the recent drone attack targeting the United Arab Emirates’ consulate in Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan region. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Riyadh described the assault as a “blatant violation” of international laws, including the Fourth Geneva Convention and diplomatic norms that safeguard foreign missions.According to reports from the Kurdistan Regional Government’s counter-terrorism service, three drones were intercepted over Erbil late Monday, with debris from one landing near the UAE consulate. No injuries or fatalities were reported, but minor material damage occurred. The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the strike as a “terrorist act” and urged Iraqi and Kurdish authorities to investigate the incident and hold those responsible accountable. The attack takes place amid heightened regional tensions, following waves of Iranian retaliatory strikes across the Gulf in response to coordinated U.S.-Israeli operations launched against Iran on February 28. Both the UAE and Saudi Arabia have repeatedly called for restraint and respect for international law, emphasizing that attacks on diplomatic missions endanger stability and the safety of diplomatic personnel.
