🚨Alert-Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, has warned of “unimaginably terrible consequences” over the ongoing joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea. Her statement, carried by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), condemned the Freedom Shield 26 drills that began on March 9 and will run for 11 days. The large-scale exercise involves around 18,000 South Korean troops, along with U.S. and United Nations Command personnel, conducting computer-simulated and field training operations.Kim described the exercises as a “provocative and invasive war simulation” designed by those seeking confrontation with North Korea. She argued that the drills come at a time of extreme global instability, citing conflicts elsewhere as examples of reckless foreign behavior. The statement was her first in her new role as head of the Workers’ Party of Korea’s General Affairs Department, further underscoring her influence in Pyongyang’s leadership.Despite her sharp tone, analysts noted her rhetoric was less aggressive than in the past, with no direct threats of nuclear retaliation. The warning also comes amid frozen diplomacy, as North Korea continues to reject South Korean President Lee Jae Myung’s peace proposals and U.S. efforts to resume dialogue.
