These three were once hyped legends, but right now they’re deep in the red and flirting with new lows. Here’s why they’re struggling (and why more pain could be coming):
1. Polkadot ($DOT ~$1.50)
• Down ~97% from ATH ($55 in 2021) 😢
• Hit ATL around $1.13–$1.15 in Feb 2026, now hovering just above.
• Reasons: High token inflation (10%+ annually), slow ecosystem growth vs. competitors (Ethereum L2s, Solana, modular chains), capital rotating to BTC/ETH/blue chips. Parachain hype faded, developer activity stagnated in bear phases.
• Risk: If broader altcoin bleed continues, sub-$1.20 retest very possible.
2. Filecoin ($FIL ~$1.00)
• Trading near $1, way below past highs.
• Struggles: Below “shutdown price” for many miners → supply death spiral, low protocol revenue despite AI/DePIN narrative push in 2026 strategy. Heavy competition in decentralized storage + macro weakness.
• Recent pivot to AI/enterprise demand is promising, but paid on-chain activity still tiny. Grayscale holdings up, yet price ignores fundamentals.

3. Zcash ($ZEC ~$210–$230)
• Massive volatility: Pumped to $500+ in late 2025, now crashed 50%+ from peaks.
