Prominent UAE businessman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor has sparked global attention after publishing a strong open message questioning U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to escalate military actions involving Iran.

In his statement, Al Habtoor directly asked why the Middle East was being pulled into a conflict that regional countries did not choose. He warned that such decisions could place Gulf nations at serious risk and potentially turn the region into a battlefield.
Al Habtoor, chairman of the Al Habtoor Group and a well-known voice in Gulf business and political circles, raised several key concerns. He questioned whether the decision for military escalation was made independently or influenced by external pressure, and whether the potential civilian and regional consequences had been fully considered.
He also pointed out what he described as a contradiction between previous peace initiatives and the current situation. According to him, Gulf countries had contributed significant financial support toward regional stability efforts, making it reasonable for them to ask whether those resources were being used for peace initiatives or indirectly contributing to conflict.
The Emirati businessman warned that tensions between major powers could have serious consequences for the Middle East’s security, economy, and civilian populations. He emphasized that countries in the region should not be forced to bear the consequences of conflicts they did not initiate.

Al Habtoor concluded his message by stressing that leadership should focus on diplomacy and stability rather than escalating military confrontations, arguing that real leadership is defined by wisdom, responsibility, and the pursuit of peace.
