Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced its support for the upcoming THORChain (RUNE) network upgrade, scheduled for March 5, 2026. This upgrade is expected to enhance the performance, security, and overall efficiency of the THORChain blockchain network.
To ensure a smooth transition during the upgrade, Binance will temporarily suspend RUNE token deposits and withdrawals on the THORChain network shortly before the upgrade begins. Trading of RUNE tokens on the platform will remain unaffected.
The upgrade is part of THORChain’s ongoing efforts to improve its decentralized liquidity protocol, which enables users to swap cryptocurrencies across different blockchains without relying on centralized intermediaries.
Once the network upgrade is successfully completed and deemed stable, Binance will resume deposits and withdrawals for RUNE tokens. Users are not required to take any action, as the exchange will handle all technical requirements related to the upgrade.
