Midnight is entering the final phase before launch and now things look serious

I spent some time checking the latest updates on the Midnight project and honestly this is the first time it feels like the launch is actually close. I have been watching this project for a long time but now it looks like everything is moving into the final stage before the mainnet at the end of March 2026.

Here is my personal breakdown of what looks finished, what is still under work, and where I think the project is heading.

What looks already finished

From what I see the base structure is ready. The Preprod network is live and this is basically a copy of what the real network will look like. This is where all testing is happening before the final launch.

Core tools and coding packages are updated and now developers can start building very fast. The learning academy is also live which tells me the education side is prepared and new users can already start learning how the system works.

All this usually means the project has passed the early stage and is now preparing for real usage.

What is still under work right now

This looks like the busiest phase. The focus right now is making sure everything works perfectly before the mainnet goes live.

Developers are moving their apps to the Preprod network to test them in real conditions. I also noticed the system for transaction fuel is being tested. Now developers have to create fuel using test tokens which makes the process closer to real network activity.

Another thing I noticed is the use of AI assistants for writing smart contracts. This makes sense because privacy based code is complex and mistakes can cause serious problems later.

This tells me the team is trying to reduce risk before the public launch.

What I think will happen next

The biggest event ahead is the mainnet launch planned for the end of March 2026. This will be the moment when the project moves from testing to real operation.

After launch I expect the network to start expanding. Instead of only one group running the system, different trusted partners will start running nodes together. This is usually the first step toward real decentralization.

I also expect the first real applications to appear soon. There are already groups preparing projects and once the mainnet is live we will probably start seeing real tools instead of only development updates.

My personal view on the direction

To me this project is moving from experiment mode into something that looks like a real financial infrastructure.

The team is pushing development, education, and visibility at the same time which usually means they want adoption not just hype.

If the launch goes as planned the next few weeks could be the most important period in the whole history of this project.
