I am not opposed to the "buy and hold" strategy in stocks and a stronger equivalent of HODL in cryptocurrencies.
But even very long-term decisions should have an exit point.
When you see that the "buy and hold" strategy for MSFT or WMT or BTC is succeeding, you are actually subject to survivor bias.
There are many tickers that have been held in portfolios on a long-term basis but no longer exist.
So even when you are focused on
long-term prospects, decide what indicator will signal to you that this plan is not working...
