🚀 Musk's Space AI Data Center Needs $5 Trillion: Is It a Mad Fantasy or a Future Reality?

MoffettNathanson analysts have recently provided a financial estimate of Musk's ambition to move AI data centers to space. The data is shocking:

💰 $5 Trillion annually — this is the annual capital expenditure required to deploy 100 GW of computing power in orbit. This figure is equivalent to one-sixth of the U.S. economy (31 Trillion)!

What is needed to realize this blueprint?

🛰 1 Million Satellites: The eventual scale of the satellite constellation. 🚀 Launching Starship 9 times a day (over 3,300 times a year). 🏗 Building 30 new rockets each year: even if each rocket can be reused 100 times.

Where will the money come from?

Currently, SpaceX's annual revenue is about $16 Billion, and this project will require "astronomical external financing." Analysts point out that even if SpaceX uses self-developed chips instead of Nvidia's solution, costs will still reach $2-3 Trillion.

Musk is once again choosing to "go all in." If he can raise funds for this project, we will witness not just a leap in the aerospace industry but also a complete transformation of AI infrastructure.
