U.S. Republican senators urge Treasury Department to buy Bitcoin

Some Republican lawmakers are urging the U.S. Department of the Treasury to purchase Bitcoin. It is reported that Senator Cynthia Lummis has already advised Treasury Secretary Bessent to use the U.S. gold reserves to buy Bitcoin; she reportedly raised this idea with Bessent last year and stated she would support taking action within the existing administrative authority.
