In the world of cryptocurrencies, we have been freed from intermediaries like banks that do not allow total transparency. This gives you freedom, but it also makes you solely responsible for your security. While $BTC and $BNB fluctuate, scammers are lurking, waiting for a single oversight to collapse your years of effort.
Here are the golden rules to make your Binance account an impregnable fortress:
1️⃣ The Beautiful Girl: The Fake Profiles
It's a classic phishing scheme: a profile with a photo of an attractive woman contacts you via Telegram, X, or even here on Square, promising investment advice, technical help, or the innocent who posted a future without offending anyone.
But there are two undeniable realities:
*️⃣ Behind that photo is a scammer trying to gain your trust so that you click on a malicious link or reveal your keys. Simply put, you have let yourself be guided by your instincts.
*️⃣ If it sounds too good to be true, or if a stranger contacts you to talk about money... block and report.
2️⃣ Do not share photos of personal documents (KYC)
Your identity is the master key to your account. Never, under any circumstances, send photos of your ID, passport, or driver's license through chats or emails that are not the official Binance platform.
⚠️ With those documents, an attacker can try to impersonate your identity to technical support to "recover" (and steal) your account. And the only one responsible would have been you.
3️⃣ Be careful with "support links"
Scammers create websites that are identical to Binance. They send you a link saying that your account "is blocked" and that you need to log in to save it.
❌ By entering your email and password on that fake site, you are handing them over on a silver platter.
✅ Always access from the official App or manually type binance.com in your browser.
4️⃣ Enable 2FA (Two-Factor Security) 🛡️
Do not rely solely on a password. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA), preferably using Google Authenticator or a physical key (YubiKey).
⚠️ Avoid SMS as the primary method, as there is "SIM swapping" (SIM card cloning).
5️⃣ The Anti-Phishing Code 🔐
Binance has a brilliant tool: the Anti-Phishing Code. It is a secret word that you choose and that will appear in all the real emails that the platform sends you.
⚠️ If you receive an email from "Binance" and do not see your secret code: it is a scam. Delete it immediately.
💡 ENEAS BB ADVICE:
The world of cryptocurrencies has given us a powerful tool: "FREEDOM". We can access assets with an efficiency and speed that the banking system does not offer us. But, the one responsible for your security is you; it is not the system; you are the weakest link in the chain.
Have you already activated your Anti-Phishing Code in the security settings? If you don't know how, ask here. 👇🛡️
