🇺🇸 Fresh US sanctions against Iran: targeting the Ministry of Internal Affairs and cryptocurrency exchanges

OFAC (US Department of the Treasury) announced the expansion of the sanctions list against Iran.

Included in the list is Iran's Minister of Internal Affairs Eskander Momeni. Also under sanctions again is investor Babak Zanjani — after his release from prison, he was accused of financing projects for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

For the first time, two cryptocurrency exchanges associated with Zanjani have been included in the sanctions list. According to the US, large flows of funds for the needs of the IRGC passed through them.

🇪🇺 Previously, similar steps were taken by the European Union, imposing restrictions against Momeni, the command of the IRGC, and a number of media structures in Iran.#CZAMAonBinanceSquare #usa
