Reason for Rieder's Rise
Until last week, Rieder was at only 3% odds, but he has now reached 49%. There are two major reasons for this:
Donald Trump described him as a "very impressive" person.
Trump's economic advisor Kevin Hassett (who is himself a finalist) endorsed Rieder, calling him the "best bond guy."
What's Next?
Trump has said that he has made his decision and the candidate list is now down to just "one." According to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, this decision will be announced soon.
