What does 2026 hold for us?
Monica Long, CEO of Ripple, anticipates a shift in the digital currency market that will manifest in four key areas, including stablecoins, blockchain assets, digital currency custody, and automation using artificial intelligence.
Long highlighted these axes as key turning points that may drive institutions to adopt digital currencies in 2026.
Ripple's CEO expects that by 2027, financial institutions will leverage the power of regulated stablecoins to provide collateral transfer capability around the clock in capital markets. Long added that although there are individual use cases for stablecoins, the real growth engine lies in the business-to-business (B2B) sector.
Long shares her predictions for the next five years, stating that in the next five years, stablecoins will be fully integrated into global payment systems. The CEO of Ripple also predicts a convergence of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence.
