Character still eats all of that for breakfast.
You can fix a bad price.
You can fix bad terms.
You cannot fix a bad counterparty.
A bad person will:
Change the story.
Reinterpret every word.
Hide behind process.
Pretend confusion when it is convenient.
A good person will:
Own their mistakes.
Honor the spirit when the letter fails.
Leave some money on the table and sleep well.
My simple filter now:
If I do not trust you with a handshake, I do not need your signature.
If your values are off, your numbers are noise.
Life is short.
Only do deals with people you would still respect when things go wrong.
Because at some point, they will.
