President Trump says Venezuela will turn over 30 – 50 million barrels of oil to the U.S.
President Donald Trump announced that interim authorities in Venezuela have agreed to transfer between 30 million and 50 million barrels of “high-quality, sanctioned” crude oil to the United States. He said the oil will be sold at market price and that the money from the sale would be controlled by him as U.S. president and used to “benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States.” The plan is to begin moving the oil immediately, with Energy Secretary Chris Wright tasked with execution and the barrels brought by storage ships directly to U.S. ports.
