The developer of the AI model Claude, Anthropic, announced on Thursday the completion of a $30 billion Series G financing, with a post-transaction valuation reaching $380 billion, a significant jump from the previous Series F valuation of $183 billion.

According to the announcement, this round of financing was led by Singapore's sovereign fund GIC and investment management company Coatue, along with several well-known institutions including D. E. Shaw Ventures, Peter Thiel's Founders Fund, and Abu Dhabi's MGX. Other investors include Accel, General Catalyst, Jane Street, and many other institutions from the Qatar Investment Authority.

Anthropic indicates that the newly raised funds will be used to drive cutting-edge research, product development, and infrastructure expansion, further strengthening the company's market leadership in enterprise AI and software development.

Anthropic's CFO Krishna Rao stated in the announcement:

"Whether it is entrepreneurs, startups, or the largest companies in the world, the feedback we receive from our clients is remarkably consistent: Claude is increasingly becoming an indispensable key tool in enterprise operations. This financing reflects the strong demand we see from the client side, and we will use these funds to continue building the enterprise-grade products and models they rely on."

This funding injection comes at a time when this artificial intelligence startup is competing with rival OpenAI for customers and market influence. OpenAI recently stated that it is seeking an additional $100 billion in fundraising, which, if successful, would raise its valuation to about $830 billion.

Anthropic pointed out that the company's current annualized revenue has reached $14 billion, and in the past three years, this metric has grown at a rate of over 10 times each year, primarily due to its positioning as the preferred intelligent platform for enterprises and developers.

Anthropic's product line covers multiple enterprise application scenarios, including API services centered around the large language model Claude, Claude Code focusing on agent-based programming, and Claude for Work aimed at internal collaboration and knowledge work. The company noted that these products have been widely applied in software development, data and financial analysis, sales, cybersecurity, and research workflows, with most enterprise clients starting with a single use case and gradually expanding to the entire organization.
