Will USDT Overtake $BTC BTC and ETH? A Bloomberg Scenario
Bloomberg's senior commodity strategist Mike McGlone recently floated a provocative idea: USDT could surpass Ethereum and even $BTC - by market capitalization. Not because stablecoins will explode in growth.
But because the broader crypto market could sharply contract.
His downside scenario looks like this: ETH → $1,500 BTC $10,000
If that happens, USDT doesn't need to grow at all. It simply needs to hold its peg and its supply while risk assets reprice lower.
