CZ says ecosystem projects should avoid comparing token prices with competitors

He emphasizes long-term product development over short-term market performance

CZ says price movements should not distract teams or communities from execution

Changpeng Zhao has shared his view on how projects within the Binance ecosystem should approach competition and token price performance, saying the focus should remain firmly on building strong products rather than comparing valuations with other platforms.

Responding to a question from a community member who highlighted recent price gains in ecosystem tokens, CZ declined to comment on competing platforms, instead stressing the importance of staying focused on internal execution.

“I won’t comment on other platforms. I think we should focus on doing our own things,” CZ said.

Focus on Learning, Not Comparing

CZ said ecosystem teams should avoid being distracted by how their tokens perform relative to competitors’ platform coins. Instead, he suggested that projects selectively learn from others where appropriate.

According to him, if other products demonstrate strong execution, values, or team capabilities, those elements can be studied and learned from — including, in some cases, recruiting talent from strong teams. However, he stressed that such learning should not turn into constant comparison.

“We only focus on ourselves. We just need to make our product well,” he said.

Product Quality Drives Long-Term Adoption

CZ emphasized that, ultimately, long-term success is driven by product quality rather than token price movements. If a product delivers real value, he said, users will adopt it naturally over time.

He added that short-term fluctuations in token prices — whether higher or lower than peers — should not be a source of excessive excitement or concern.

“There’s no need to be overly happy if our coin price is slightly higher than others, or too upset if it’s lower,” CZ said.

A Long-Term View for Communities

CZ described ecosystem growth as a long-term process, encouraging teams and community members to maintain a calm mindset rather than engaging in daily horizontal comparisons.

While acknowledging that community discussions and comparisons are inevitable, he said such conversations should be treated lightly.

“From my perspective, it’s more about entertainment and humor,” he said.
