WALROS (WAL) is designed for the true web 3 that everyone is talking about. People like to say that web 3 is about ownership and decentralization, but the truth is that most applications still rely on centralized storage for the parts that really matter. Transactions on-chain, but content like files, images, datasets, and dates are often on a traditional server. This means that the application can still be controlled, restricted, or disabled by a single provider. WALROS is designed to change that. WAL is the native token of the WALROS protocol that focuses on secure and private interactions based on blockchain while also enabling decentralized data storage while maintaining privacy. It operates on the Sui blockchain and uses blob storage to efficiently handle large unstructured files. It then applies shredding to split those files across a decentralized network so that the data remains recoverable even if parts of the system are disconnected. WAL also supports governance and storage, which is important because decentralized storage only works in the long term when incentives keep providers reliable. WALROS does not try to be flashy; it tries to make web 3 usable.
