I have a fan whose life fell apart after a margin call.

He couldn't answer calls (a number from 2015, only debt collectors and ads), couldn't sleep with his eyes closed, dreaming of watching the market and holding positions, waking up in a cold sweat. He found me in desperation.

I gave him six iron rules to help him climb out of the abyss:

First rule: Rapid rises and slow declines mean the big players are slowly accumulating.

A sharp rise followed by a slow decline is mostly a washout; don’t rush to cut losses. The real peak comes with a sudden surge in volume, followed by a “bang” and a waterfall decline, leaving others to take over.

Second rule: Fast declines and slow rises mean the big players are quietly offloading.

After a flash crash, if there’s a slow rebound, don’t think it’s a chance to pick up bargains; that could very well be the last blow.

Don’t think, “It’s already dropped so much, how much lower can it go?” This mindset is the easiest way to stumble.

Third rule: Volume at the top doesn’t necessarily mean it’s over; lack of volume is what you need to watch out for.

If there’s still volume at high levels, there might be another surge; if it’s quiet with no volume at high levels, that’s a signal that a crash is coming.

Fourth rule: Don’t be reckless with volume at the bottom; continuous volume is what’s reliable.

One-time volume could just be bait to lure people in. There needs to be some oscillation first, followed by several days of continuous volume; that’s the real opportunity to build a position.

Fifth rule: Trading coins is about trading sentiment; sentiment is hidden in the volume.

K-line is the result, trading volume is the emotional indicator. If volume is low, it means no one is playing; if volume suddenly rises, it indicates real capital is flowing in.

Sixth rule: “Nothing” is the real skill.

Six months later, he messaged me: “Sister Ke, I’ve paid off my debts and I’m alive again, thankful to have met you. When my phone rang in the middle of the night, I finally dared to look—it was an old friend from the barbecue stall asking if I wanted to drink a couple of cups.”

The market never sleeps; hold onto your capital and your heart. In the next cycle, it will be you who makes a comeback.
