This was already the fourth all-nighter I had spent trying to find a low-cost interactive environment for that not-so-complex AI agent. The current market has a surreal sense of dislocation; on one side, various KOLs on Twitter shout about the trillion-dollar narrative of AI and Web3 integration, while on the other side, we coders on the front lines are driven to the brink by the high interaction costs of the Ethereum mainnet, even wanting to bang our heads against the wall. Even on Layer 2, once a dogecoin explosion occurs, the level of network congestion can make your AI model crash directly. This sense of despair eased a bit only when I reluctantly went to test Vanar Chain. To be honest, I initially viewed this project through a biased lens, always feeling that such projects under the Google banner were mostly aimed at VCs rather than developers. However, when I truly deployed the somewhat bumpy data indexing script running on Polygon, I realized my previous prejudice might have been a bit ridiculous.
Many people don't really understand what so-called AI-Ready is actually ready for; they think that as long as the TPS is high enough to accommodate hundreds of millions of transactions, it’s a victory. Little do they know that for machine agents, predictable costs are more important than simply having low prices. When I was doing stress testing on the Vanar testnet, I specifically wrote a dead loop to bombard its RPC interface, simulating an extremely high-concurrency DDoS scenario. The result surprised me; its Gas fee fluctuations were as stable as a fake market. You have to know that on Solana, while it is normally incredibly fast, once the network gets congested, the packet loss rate can make you doubt your life, whereas Vanar feels like it has directly locked in a dedicated lane for machines at the base level. This kind of stability is clearly not achieved merely by piling up the number of nodes; there is a strong flavor of Web2 tech giant architecture optimization in there. It was at this point that I realized their promotion of the Google Cloud partnership might not just be about putting up a logo, but rather genuinely moving the cloud service's load balancing logic onto the chain.
Of course, this doesn’t mean it’s flawless; I actually encountered quite a few issues while using that highly touted Creator Pad. Although its UI design indeed allows complete novices to create NFTs without understanding code, this kind of dimensionality reduction is very friendly to Web2 users. However, when handling large-scale metadata uploads, the loading animation in the front end made me anxious, and there were even two instances where I received network timeout errors. This clearly indicates that the synchronization mechanism of the IPFS gateway has not been optimized yet. While these small bugs in infrastructure are not fatal, they can really mess with the mindset of developers who have OCD. However, looking at it another way, this idea of encapsulating complex logic in the back end is correct. Compared to Near, which has impressive technology but has a development threshold that feels like a celestial book, Vanar's EVM seamlessly compatible strategy clearly understands human nature better. I almost pasted my contract code from Arbitrum over without changes, just modified the configuration and it ran smoothly; this zero-friction migration experience is a killer app in the competition for existing developers.
The biggest impression I have of the current Vanar ecosystem is desolation, but it is a clean desolation. If you take a casual look at Polygon, the screen is full of meme coins and various incomprehensible junk assets. That kind of environment is a disaster for AI projects that need to be compliant and maintain brand tone. The current state of Vanar feels like a newly paved district where not many shops are open yet, but the road is smooth and even somewhat fastidious. This is actually the best environment for regular players like Nike or Ubisoft to enter. They do not need a noisy atmosphere filled with gambling vibes; they need certainty and an SLA guarantee that they can find nodes if problems arise. The real enterprise names on the Vanguard node list may seem insufficiently geeky in the eyes of decentralized purists, but for commercial implementation, this is the most solid moat.
I also noticed that some people in the community complain about the long token release cycle, feeling that it doesn't create a rapid wealth effect. But if you look at it from the perspective of running a business for ten years, this slow release is actually a form of protection. Look at those projects that peaked immediately after launch and dropped to zero three months later; none of them avoided collapse due to their token structure. Vanar's current token distribution is very healthy, and major holders are silent, while there are many real interactive addresses like mine testing the technology. This shows that smart money and developers are watching, waiting for that trigger point to arrive. I'm not saying it will multiply dozens of times immediately; after all, the cold start of an ecosystem is the hardest part, but if you're tired of congestion, downtime, and searching for gold in a trash heap, spending some time running code on this 'boring' chain might show you another possibility for large-scale commercial use of Web3.
