TETHER CONTROLS THE FED $USDT
Tether is aggressively buying US Treasury bills. They plan to be a top 10 buyer by 2026. They already hold over $122 billion in T-bills. This is massive. It means $USDT is now deeply intertwined with the US financial system.
Tether buys T-bills to back their stablecoin. This generates huge profits from yield. More demand for $USDT means more T-bill purchases. Crypto's growth directly fuels US government debt. Their new $USAT stablecoin could drive even more demand.
This makes crypto more integrated with traditional finance. But it also means crypto markets will be more sensitive to Fed policy and US interest rates. Stablecoins are no longer just for transfers. They are becoming central to the global financial structure.
