Champions of Algeria

Life of Emir Abdelkader:

Abdelkader bin Muhyi al-Din bin Mustafa, known as Emir Abdelkader the Algerian, is considered one of the great statesmen of Algeria in contemporary history and the founder of modern Algeria and a pioneer of its resistance against French colonialism between 1832 and 1847.

He is a political and military leader, a fighter and a poet, who was proclaimed by the Algerians in 1832 as the Emir of the resistance against the French colonizer. His life can be divided into 3 main phases: the first was spent seeking knowledge and learning about the conditions of Arab countries on the pilgrimage route, the second was spent in jihad and resisting the colonizer, and the third was spent as a prisoner in France and then as an expatriate fighter in Damascus.
