Cat Brother's Emotional Talk | A Relationship That Went from 'Sweet' to 'Suffocating'
This morning, Cat Brother posted a tweet,
It wasn't a joke; it was a real experience I went through.
My ex-girlfriend was a teacher at an international school in Thailand, very cute.
We didn't end up together, not because of right or wrong, but because of incompatible personalities.
To put it simply, three things:
First,
I went to the gym to practice boxing, the environment was very noisy, and I didn't hear the phone.
She would call me continuously ten or more times, and not just once.
Second,
When my screen was not locked, she would go through my chat history.
If she found me chatting with someone of the opposite sex,
She would ask who it was and even demand that I delete the other person.
Third,
Once when I was at her place,
An American friend of the opposite sex called to talk about normal things.
She got jealous and angry,
Thinking 'I shouldn't be chatting with another woman this late'.
At that time, to be honest—
I felt a bit uncomfortable, but also thought 'it feels somewhat sweet'.
Because it represented being valued.
But looking back now,
From an observer's perspective,
I think it was more about lack of boundaries + desire for control.
I have no intention of belittling her,
She is still a very good person.
It’s just that at that time, we both may not have been mature enough.
Now Cat Brother believes,
A good relationship,
Should involve two independent people,
Respecting each other's boundaries, being able to accompany and understand, rather than control.
What do you think?
Have you ever experienced that kind of—
Starting off very sweet, but later becoming increasingly suffocating relationship?
Feel free to chat in the comments.
