In Kyrgyzstan's media and specialized Telegram channels, the development of cryptocurrency payment infrastructure in the country is increasingly being discussed. This is not just about cryptocurrency regulation 'on paper', but about practical scenarios — QR payments and bank conversion between the som and $KGST .
According to the proposed model, users will be able to pay via QR just like they currently do through banking applications, and the conversion 'som ↔ KGST' will occur on the side of banks or payment providers. For the client, this looks like regular cashless payments, but the settlements may go through stablecoins.
An interesting point — the participation of banks. This removes some barriers to mass usage: there's no need to understand wallets and exchanges, crypto becomes the background rather than the goal. For the state — control and transparency, for users — speed and convenience.
For now, these are discussions and pilot scenarios, but the vector is indicative: Kyrgyzstan is clearly trying to integrate stablecoins into the real payment economy, rather than leaving them only for trading.
