The United States Department of Justice has seized over 2.8 million USD in cryptocurrency, 70,000 USD in cash, and a luxury car from Ianis Aleksandrovich Antropenko, a suspect operating ransomware and money laundering. These assets are alleged to have originated from criminal activities, laundered through various means, including the ChipMixer service that was shut down in 2023. This is part of a series of recent actions by the U.S., including the seizure of approximately 1 million USD from the BlackSuit group and 2.4 million USD in Bitcoin from the FBI in Dallas. The U.S. government currently holds approximately 198,012 BTC (over 23 billion USD), primarily from seizures related to criminal cases.
