The body of actress Humaira Asghar has been received by her brother.
While speaking to the media in Karachi, the actress's brother Naved said that all legal requirements are fulfilled before handing over any body to the heirs, the news of not receiving the body is false, and I have come here to receive my sister's body with my father's permission.
He said that some time ago our aunt had a road accident, due to which she went into a coma. Last month, due to her passing, my parents were quite upset. During this time, suddenly the incident regarding my sister occurred, and the media kept calling and bothering my parents. The actress's brother further stated that when calls were repeatedly made to my father, he said that if there is an emergency, then bury her, however, my mother was very upset, after which we contacted the relevant authorities and came to Karachi to receive my sister's body. He said that a misunderstanding has arisen regarding the parents' refusal to receive the body, and he requests the media not to spread such false news.
Naved Asghar, in response to a question, said that we received our sister's body after completing the legal proceedings, and we will take further action once the details of the forensic reports are available.
Regarding the relationship of my sister Humaira Asghar with the family, he mentioned that there was not much contact with the sister; she was independent and self-reliant, and she moved to Karachi of her own accord.
He said that every parent asks their children why they are coming home late, she often used to tell her father that she was responsible for her own affairs, and we had allowed her to do whatever she wanted.
We had not had any contact with my sister for one to one and a half years, however, our late mother often asked about her, where she was and where she was residing. The actress's brother mentioned that when Humaira's mobile phone was off, my mother told me that she couldn’t get in touch with her sister, so we tried to reach out but failed. We also contacted two of her friends, one of whom said she did not know her. I asked my mother to provide Humaira's residential address in Karachi, to which my mother replied that she never shared her residential address.
He said that when we learned about Humaira's passing, we were very upset; the condition of the body was such that we could not even lift it.
He accused the media, stating that the questions that should have been asked were not asked, and no one questioned the landlord. The media made a big fuss all over the world; everyone knows that whenever such an incident occurs, after legal matters, the body is handed over to the heirs. There had been no contact with Humaira since her mobile number was turned off, and the condition of my sister's body was such that nothing could be said. Forensic reports will come, and after that, we will decide on our course of action.
At this location, the head of the Chhipa Welfare, Ramzan Chhipa, stated that Naved Bhai had been in contact with us for the last two to three days, unfounded propaganda has been spread on social media, claiming that Humaira's parents are upset and do not want to receive her body.
He said that here I want to make it clear that Humaira Asghar's parents do not want to receive her body, that is not true.
