After talks between the American and Ukrainian teams in Saudi Arabia regarding the end of the war, Ukraine has stated its willingness to accept the U.S. proposal for a preliminary 30-day ceasefire with Russia.
Washington will also immediately resume intelligence sharing and "security assistance" with Ukraine.
U.S. Secretary of State Rubio stated, "The decision now lies with Russia," and he will bring this proposal to Moscow.
Rubio referred to this proposal as a comprehensive ceasefire—"stop the fire."
After arguments in the White House, Zelensky's domestic approval ratings soared. The U.S. hopes to reach a peace agreement as soon as possible, but Ukrainians refuse to surrender to Russia. Zelensky faces severe political challenges: he must defend his country's interests while also maintaining support from the U.S. and its capricious Trump.
