According to Jinshi Data, the United States and Azerbaijan signed a strategic partnership agreement on Tuesday aimed at deepening economic and security cooperation and expanding U.S. influence in the South Caucasus region. Azerbaijani President Aliyev and U.S. Vice President Vance jointly signed the agreement in Baku.
Aliyev stated that the two sides will enter a 'new phase' of cooperation in defense trade, artificial intelligence, and other areas, and will continue to cooperate in energy security and counter-terrorism. The framework for this agreement was initially proposed during a meeting last August between Aliyev and U.S. President Trump at the White House.
In addition, Vance signed another agreement with Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan during his visit to Armenia, creating conditions for the construction of a nuclear power plant by the United States locally.
