Becoming a core contributor to Walrus is not about holding a title—it’s about sustained, visible contribution. The protocol is open-source, which means the first step is technical engagement: reviewing code, proposing improvements, and submitting well-scoped pull requests.
Over time, contributors who demonstrate good judgment, security awareness, and alignment with the protocol’s goals tend to gain more responsibility. This may include maintainership roles, design input, or involvement in grant-funded work coordinated by the Walrus Foundation.
What stands out to me is that contribution is earned through consistency, not proximity.
There is no shortcut....
Core contributors are formed by solving real problems, explaining decisions clearly, and showing up over time.
