At the APEC summit, President Donald Trump met with Chinese President Xi. Tensions were high, with the risk of a big trade fight.
Instead of raising tariffs, they reached a small deal:
* The U.S. will lower tariffs on Chinese goods from 57% to 47%
* China will take stronger action against fentanyl exports
* China will start buying U.S. soybeans again, and will keep exporting rare earth materials
