One thing I’ve noticed while studying Midnight’s architecture is that the network separates security incentives from transaction activity in a very thoughtful way.

Midnight uses a Substrate-based design with GRANDPA finality and AURA block production, where validators take turns producing blocks. The more participants involved, the stronger and more resilient the network becomes. To motivate these validators, the protocol rewards them with $NIGHT.
