Wells Fargo has filed a trademark application for "WFUSD" covering cryptocurrency, stablecoins, and digital-asset trading, payments, and related software services. This follows similar moves by other major financial institutions. Western Union previously applied for the "WUUSD" trademark and plans to launch a dollar-backed stablecoin called USDPT on Solana. JPMorgan filed for "JPMD" which was ultimately used for a tokenized deposit rather than a stablecoin.
