Been thinking about something after looking through Fabric Foundation's architecture.
Most verification models assume you need full transparency to get accountability. Show all the data, expose the compute, trust comes from visibility.
But that creates obvious problems. Privacy dies. Competitive info leaks. And most orgs just opt out entirely.
Fabric's approach flips it. Compute stays dark. The actual work happens privately. What becomes public is simply the record that verification happened and what was agreed.
That distinction matters more than it sounds.
Instead of choosing between privacy and accountability, you get both. The machine does its work in the dark. The network verifies the output in the light.
Whether this works will come down to whether verifiers actually treat this as neutral infrastructure rather than extractive opportunity. And whether builders see enough value in verifiable private compute to integrate it.
The quiet part is that if this model holds, it changes how we think about trust in machine systems entirely.
