Vitalik’s ETH roadmap isn’t about one magic upgrade that suddenly makes Ethereum “fast.” It’s more like a long, careful rebuild so Ethereum can scale without selling out what makes it valuable in the first place.
The idea is simple: let rollups do the cheap, high-speed execution, and let Ethereum focus on being the most trusted place where the final truth is recorded. That’s why so much of the roadmap is about making data cheaper for L2s, keeping nodes easier to run, and strengthening the chain so it stays neutral and hard to censor.
The real goal is boring reliability. Not hype TPS numbers. Not shortcuts. Just an Ethereum that can handle huge usage and still feel fair, open, and secure.
That’s the bet: scale, but stay decentralized.
