@Fogo Official I was rereading Fogo’s docs at 11:48 p.m., laptop on a hotel desk, while a test validator kept spitting “slot skipped” into my terminal. “Firedancer-based client” sounded clear, but what am I really signing up for? It’s popping up now because Firedancer has gone live on Solana mainnet, and Fogo’s own mainnet is open for anyone to connect to. Firedancer itself is a separate Solana validator client written in C, with “Frankendancer” as the interim mix-and-match stage. When I see “Firedancer-based client,” I read it as “this chain’s node software is built on Firedancer’s code and pipeline,” not merely “it can talk to Solana tools.” Fogo even says its client is based on Firedancer while staying compatible with the SVM. That’s real progress, but it also shifts my operational focus: upgrades and failure modes follow Firedancer first, so I have to watch that track closely.
