$VANRY @Vanarchain #VANREY Vanar (Vanara) – The Forest Warriors of Indian Epics
Vanar (more accurately Vanara) are mythical forest-dwelling beings prominently featured in the ancient Indian epic, the Ramayana. The word Vanara is often interpreted as “forest-dweller” (vana = forest) or “monkey-like being,” and they are typically described as humanoid monkeys with intelligence, speech, culture, and great physical strength.
Origin and Nature
In the Ramayana, the Vanaras are not ordinary monkeys. They possess supernatural abilities such as changing size, immense strength, speed, and the power to leap vast distances. According to the epic, many Vanaras were created by the gods to assist Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, in his battle against the demon king Ravana.
Vanaras are portrayed as brave, loyal, and sometimes mischievous. They live in organized kingdoms, the most famous being Kishkindha, ruled at different times by brothers Vali and Sugriva.
